On my last visit to the Peppermill Casino in Reno, I talked with a host, asking why I did not seem to be
earning any comps.
He was very nice, taking the time to pull up my history and after reading 17 pages of notes on my account,
was quickly able to resolve the question!
It seems that Leo had been there one night and was buying all of the people at the bar watching Monday
Night Football rounds of drinks during the game! He ordered finger food for everyone and even splurged on
3 cakes from the coffee shop.
But when it came time to pay, he had mistakenly taken my Peppermill Players Card instead of my credit
card (which I now lock up because of him) and he had no way to cover the bill.
Leo the kitty cat and the bar manager worked out a deal where any comps that I earn were automatically
credited against what Leo owed. That is why I was not seeing any comps being earned as I played.
I was informed that my balance due was $264, but since the bar manager had cut the deal with Leo and I
had not been informed, they were willing to let me pay half of what was still owed and they would call it
even.
I guess I was lucky with this arrangement, though I sure do miss dinning in the Peppermill coffee shop for
free! I wonder if they still have great food?
